Stepping in to help with the books

Key services

  • General bookkeeping support
  • Business advice
  • Business operational support

Background
Any small business owner knows that bookkeeping is essential to running a successful operation. A bookkeeper can handle day-to-day general accounting, ensuring the business understands its financial position and providing up-to-date accounts records for an accounting partner to review. While modern software helps with many tasks, such as invoicing and tracking payments, a good bookkeeper is vital for businesses that are not big enough for an in-house accountant.

The challenge
A client came to us and advised that their current bookkeeper had resigned because the workflow and responsibilities had become too much to handle. The client was having trouble filling the position, which meant that their accounts were not appropriately managed while the vacant role was vacant.

The solution
We provided bookkeeper services for three months until the client found a bookkeeper that suited the position. We also created a manual with procedures, bank, email and webpage accounts and passwords, and essential duties to remember. After the new bookkeeper was incorporated, we helped with the handover and continued to guide him until he felt completely confident.
